The Light

I write poems to give hope to others in despair,
I try to show that God will hold the load they can not bear.
Yet sometimes I’m down myself, so deep I cannot see,
All the words I’ve written down don’t seem to work for me.

I was sitting on a bench, one dark and lonely night,
feeling scared and so alone, no hope was there in sight.
I raised my head and saw these moths dancing in the light,
So beautiful, they seemed to float, Gods beauty in the night.

He made lots of pretty things to see when it is day
but in the darkness there is was; Gods love in His own way.
I felt as if He said hello, a warmth came in my heart,
God was always there for me, He said we’d never part.

In that moment I realized, God was there you see,
I wasn’t sitting there alone, He was there with me.
The simple things we cannot see, God made them for us all,
to help us through the troubled times and lift us when we fall.
