| This is Robert's room at home, it's not his original room but it's the last room he had. when he got where he couldn't walk we moved him into mama spare room which was her sewing room. To get him close to the livingroom. That's why his pictures aren't on the walls. I made this page because I never wanted to forget his room. He stayed in there a lot his last few months. Now mama doesn't live in that house, she lives in my sisters house beside me, her house got in such bad shape that she had to move. Roof leaked so bad it was beyond repair. It nearly killed mama to leave this house where Robert and her lived so long, but it is on the land that we live on now so she can go back to it when she wants to. The quilt on the wall in covering a window, Robert couldn't sleep with light from a window so we covered it and then hung the quilt over it. He slept more in the day than he did at night. Robert Loved his quilts, mama would make each of us a quilt for Christmas every year, she hasn't made any since Robert died. But she is now sewing again so maybe she'll get back into it again. When Robert was in the hospital he wanted his quilt that he slept under all the time, the nurses said they we could bring it but she was scared that it might get stolen, we knew that Robert would not be left alone while he was there so I brought him his quilt. He was happy then. I guess that made it feel more like home to him. His favorite was the one that looks like blocks, it's in the wheel chair on the pictures. He passed away all snuggled under it. |
| He loved his doggie bedroom shoes, he was so funny with them, he would tell us that they fight, one was mean and the other was good. He would say that they would attack each other. He got a new pair every Christmas he would wear them so much that the soles would wear out. He loved his John Wayne movies too, John Wayne was his hero. He had way more movies than is pictured, he just didn't have room in that room for them. He loved his toys, we didn't put them all in there, he said to leave them in his old room so when he went back to it. He never got to go back to it though. He always wanted me to bring him and aligator from Florida when we would go. Yeah right....I could see me bringing him back an aligator back, I did find him one at a flea market, that was just a head(real) with eyes and teeth with the jaws wide open, he love it. And once when I went to Florida I found a singing aligator, (like the singing fish) now he loved that too. He loved taz, and his big fire truck, my sister bought him a parot that would record what you say and then play it back, now him threatened to beat it on the head everytime it talked. But he kept it in his room. He had a singing cat fish too. He had all kind of toys he never played with them he just liked having them. Mama said she believed that Robert just like having them so when a kid would ask to play with them, he could say NO! .....she may have point there. He wouldn't let anybody play with his toys unless mama asked him if they could, but if they ask he would say ......NOPE! I put this page on here, I guess for myself. So I could go to Robert's Room when I wanted. I need to be there somtimes when I miss him really bad.
