Playing with Fire A child sat by the bed side, lighting matches on the floor, driven by curiosity, all dangers were ignored. The angel watching over him blows the fire out. The child is taught his lesson as he hears his mother shout. “What if you’d set the house on fire, you could have died today, Why do you do the things you do, why will you not obey? I hate I had to punish you, I hope that you have learned, If you play with fire child, you know you will be burned.” A mother running errands with her list of things to do. Only one more stop to make and then she would be through. She could not see the danger that was heading right her way, The awful wreck that she was in; she could have died that day. A lesson here for her to learn but does she have a clue? Each day she lives without the Lord, she plays with fire too. An angel kept her safe from harm now maybe she would see. If she had died that very day, now where would her soul be? Do you play with fire? Do you think that hell’s not true? If you choose not to believe, God still believes in you. You may not give dying a though until Death’s at your door, open up your life to God and play with fire no more. By: Donna Lynn Eaton July 5, 2004 |
